Seriously, look at their product line... the Macbook Airs are dated, the rMBP hasn’t been updated in a while... and they still sell that 13" MBP with 1280x800 in 2016. That’s outrageous.
Not to mention the Mac Pro has been the same for 3 years now...

The one on the bottom left is something thats designed to fix inherent problems with their design. I think it was on Kickstarter. If you stay within their little bubble, in theory, you won’t need cables ever. However, that is not my experience even when i was still in their little bubble. But then you have to buy overpriced adapters that will break because Apple cables are for style not for actual durability. Ask me how many 45W MagSafe2s I’ve killed. Also. Nothing like MS paint still. They had it and got rid of it. they made iTunes so terrible I took it off my Macbook. That charger case for the 6s is some of the worst case design I’ve ever seen and so is the new MacBook in general. Jobs Apple > Tim Apple. And what an insane price for the new iPhone and the new headphones that are stupidly priced and won’t sound good and will have terrible battery life and will be stupid easy to loose.

Apple really jumped the shark today. I’m on my second Macbook Pro, third iPhone, and I’ve even got a Watch (but that was a gift).
Today - taking the aux jack out of the iPhone, selling $160 earbuds with a 5hr battery and worse audio quality to the $20 wired ones, $1100 Canadian for a new phone? NOPE.

Honestly, I have the iPad Pro and Pencil and I find it great that I can charge my pencil right from my iPad when I’m in class. But yeah the rest of Apple’s lineup I wouldn’t be able to justify if it wasn’t for the fact I’m just in a very Apple-centric family.

I’m so far into the Apple ecosystem that it’s too late to back out. Sad thing is, I talk shit but end up buying their products anyway. I just find them more convenient and intuitive considering I have no patience.
I do have to agree though, I like my Macbook Air but it’s getting old and I absolutely hate the Force Touch trackpad Macbooks with a passion.

The headphone jack issue is absolute bullshit. Bluetooth earbuds just aren’t ready for prime time, and all the wireless stuff is expensive as hell. You could argue that your average Citroen driver Apple customer could probably afford a bluetooth headphone set, but what if you don’t want wireless headphones? Too fucking bad gramps, get with the times I guess.
This is one the reasons I’m not an Apple person anymore.

I like my older Air because it has two USB 3.0, SD slot, and thunderbolt. I don’t really ever use more than 3 usb devices at once so it’s perfect.

I am normally indifferent about apple products. I could see the advantages of buying an iphone or a MacBook and would gladly recommend the products to most people. But now, this is just infuriating. Sure you can say “get with the times, wired headphones are so 2015", but really they are trying to fix a problem that does not exist. I could see if they added a second USB/Lightning port since Digital audio is objectively better. But just going with one port is ludicrous. I always use AUX in the car with my phone, even if Bluetooth is an option just because the quality is generally better. It just seems so absurd to me that this would get removed. None of the other improvements even matter due to that change.

I’m proud to say I’ve never owned anything Apple. Last Apple product I actually considered owning was a used black Powerbook G3, and maybe, just maybe, a refurbished Mac Mini as an HTPC.

I’ve owned one Apple product that’s now obsolete with streaming music being available through my phone, but my iPod classic really was in a class by itself at the time. No other MP3 player offered the storage and user friendliness that it did for the price. The Zune came closest but I got a lot more storage in the ipod than I did in the Zune.

I dunno, even with that logic I find Apple does not lead the pack. The iPhone 4 was a thing of beauty, but the 6/7? Super generic, looks like the mass of Android phones that have been streaming out since 2014.

Plot twist: audio is inherently analogue. :x
It doesn’t matter if you do all the processing digitally, it has to get converted to an analogue signal at some point down the line to be useful to your ears. There is really no draw-back to the old jack other than the fact that it isn’t actually a standardized layout internally.

It’s a mix between the OS interface and the materials. The Iphone will always have nicer materials to the touch, plus everything is incredibly clean. The Interface looks beautiful, it might not be as practical as android but android looks like hot shit.

I don’t disagree on the interface, but among all three I think Windows Phone actually had both of the heavy-weights beat. iOS still suffers from a lack of standardization on control placement within applications and it is incredibly clumsy to travel through. Android has mostly fixed the standardization problem, but chose to standardize on stupid, so no points. Both iOS and Android have taken some heavy influence from Windows.
Materials-wise, nah, there are many Android phones which are as good as the iPhone. If we were still on the 4, I would again agree, but the iPhone 6/7 is a step backwards for Apple and is no better than the current HTC 10.
I am very interested to see what they do with the iPhone 8, though. If some of the rumors are true (all glass, AMOLED screen), I may get one.

Well yeah 3.5mm is generally an optimized design for delivering sound. I'm trying to give them some way to make sense. But really Apple has screwed up. But I suppose if they sell millions of them still, it really is a success either way.
